- Install and Update Security Software: Use reputable antivirus and anti-malware programs. Ensure software is regularly updated to protect against the latest threats.
- Keep Operating System and Applications Updated: Regularly apply updates and patches to your operating system and all applications. Enable automatic updates where possible.
- Be Cautious with Email Attachments and Links: Do not open email attachments or click on links from unknown or untrusted sources. Verify the sender's email address before interacting with any content.
- Use Strong, Unique Passwords: Create complex passwords that are difficult to guess. Use a different password for each account and consider using a password manager.
- Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Add an extra layer of security to your accounts by enabling MFA. Use authentication apps or hardware tokens for added security.
