Service Terms For Device Resets and Restores

 

Acknowledgment of Data Loss

 

If an iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV has been disabled due to too many incorrect 

password/passcode attempts, the device must be reset before it can be used again. 

 

If an iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV cannot be accessed due to a forgotten password/passcode, the device must be reset before it can be used again.

 

The process of resetting an iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV will result in ALL data being erased from the device.

 

MacMan does not have a way to bypass or reset the password/passcode on an iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV.

 

The customer understands that if their iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV has been disabled due to too many incorrect password/passcode attempts and/or the password/passcode has been forgotten, MacMan will not be able to back up or preserve any of the data on the device prior to it being reset.

 

 

Data Liability Terms

 

MacMan is not liable for loss or corruption of any data or any of your confidential, proprietary, or personal information or removable media. 

 

By having MacMan reset your iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV, you understand that ALL of the data on your device will be permanently erased and the process cannot be undone. 

 

By having MacMan reset your iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV, the data that will be erased includes, but is not limited to, photos, videos, applications, contacts, messages, voice memos, and settings.

 

 

Find My Device/Apple ID Activation Lock Terms

 

If an iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV has Find My Device enabled when it is reset, the device will become Apple ID Activation Locked after the reset is performed.

 

To unlock an Apple ID Activation Locked device, the device owner will be required to re-enter the correct Apple ID and Apple ID password to the Apple ID that was previously connected to the device. Until the Apple ID Activation Lock is removed, the device will be stuck on an Activation Lock screen and the device will not be usable for any non-emergency functions.

 

MacMan does not have any record of, nor access to customers’ Apple ID information. MacMan is not able to bypass Apple ID Activation Locks. 

 

By having MacMan perform a reset of your iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV, you agree to hold MacMan harmless in the event of a loss of functionality of your device due to an Apple ID Activation Lock.

 

 

Services Provided

 

MacMan offers two different tiers of reset services for iPads, iPods, iPhones, Apple Watches, and Apple TVs:

 

Basic Reset – Your iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV will be reset and the latest available version of iPad OS, iOS, Watch OS, or TV OS will be installed – Depending on device type. The service fee for a basic reset is $40.00, plus tax.

 

Reset and Restore Attempt - Your iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV will be reset and the latest available version of iPad OS, iOS, Watch OS, or TV OS will be installed – Depending on device type. MacMan will then assist you in the process of restoring your device to a fully functional state. This includes assisting in removing Apple ID Activation Locks, restoring from an iCloud backup (if applicable), and/or signing into your Apple ID. MacMan makes no guarantee that your device can be restored to a functional state if you do not know your Apple ID information, your Apple ID is locked, or you do not have a means of resetting your Apple ID information. The service fee for a reset and restore attempt is $60.00, plus tax.

 

Basic reset and reset and restore attempt service fees are non-refundable.

 

 

Warranty Service & Reset/Restore Labor Terms

 

Apple Limited Warranty and AppleCare agreements do not cover your iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV’s software. All software issues on devices that are under Apple Limited Warranty or covered by AppleCare agreements will be subject to MacMan’s standard out of warranty evaluation fee and labor rates.

 

Basic reset services are not covered by Apple Limited Warranty or AppleCare agreements.

 

Reset and restore attempt services are not covered by Apple Limited Warranty or AppleCare agreements.

 

 

Terms Associated with Cases, Screen Protectors, and Accessories 

 

MacMan is not liable for any accessories that are checked in with an iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV. Accessories include, but are not limited to, cases, screen protectors, camera covers, stickers, cables, and chargers.

 

In many instances, accessories must be removed from your device before a repair can be performed.

 

MacMan reserves the right to discard screen protectors or accessories if they must be removed from your device for any reason.

 

 

Wear and Tear Terms

 

I will not hold MacMan, Inc. or its employees responsible for any data loss or normal wear and tear to my iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, or Apple TV during any stage of the repair process.

eSIM Terms

 

eSIM terms are only applicable to customers with devices that utilize an Embedded Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) to connect to a cellular service provider's network.

​

During the process of factory resetting an iPhone, Apple Watch or iPad, the Embedded Subscriber Identity Module (eSIM) data may be erased from the device. By having MacMan service your device, you understand that you may need to contact your cellular service provider to reactive your cellular service and/or eSIM after the repair is completed, and you agree to hold MacMan harmless for any loss of device functionality as a result of eSIM data loss.

 

 

Completion of Service Terms

 

Customer agrees to pay all service charges upon pickup of their equipment, unless terms have been established. Any equipment on service repair orders not picked up within 30 days from the time that MacMan notifies the customer of repair completion will be considered abandoned and will become the property of MacMan, Inc. All abandoned equipment will be recycled.

Apple Repair Terms

​

Any personal details shared with MacMan (i.e. name, address, contact numbers, etc) may be provided to and/or used by Apple for review.

Sales Tax Terms

​

All service and service labor rates are subject to sales tax.

​

​

Payment Terms

 

Pre-payment is required for all iPad, iPod, iPhone, Apple Watch, and Apple TV reset services provided by MacMan.
