Norton Scams To Be Careful Of

Updated: Mar 24

Be careful of the "Norton" Scam. They want your credit card.

This happened to Tianna - Norton Scam on WQOW

Tianna was checking the news this morning on WQOW. Just a coincidence and probably had nothing to do with WQOW. She received a pop up that claimed her Norton security software had expired. She knew this was false. Tianna is MacMan's operations manager and one of our certified iOS technicians.

When she tried to close the pop up window, this is what she saw next. This may look like it came from Apple, but it did not. Notice the URL at the top. It's not Apple. When Tianna tried to click the links at the top of the page, they did not work.

Even if you have purchased software online before, never renew it via a pop up alert. Always check with the publisher of the software by checking out their website or calling them.
